Following the decision by General Synod on the 8th February 2023, the Life Events Fees for 1st March 2023 - 31st December 2023 have been adjusted.
Within the Life Events Diary, clergy and administrators can assign the Life Events fees to Weddings and Funerals as well as adding their own fees (such as Organist, Choir and Flowers). Services that take place after the 28th February 2023 will now have the adjusted lower fees.
When adding Weddings or Funerals for future years, the fee shown within the Life Events Diary will always be estimated based on what the current year is until the fee for that year is confirmed. Fees are then automatically updated for your future Weddings and Funerals held within the Life Events Diary.
For 2023, rather than the fee having the year after it (ie Marriage Service 2022) it will instead include the relevant timing in 2023 such as:
- Marriage Service (2023: 1st January - 28th February)
- Marriage Service (2023: 1st March - 31st December)
For 1st March changes in Fees it will be shown as follows.
Any future Wedding or Funeral service that has updated fees will have a red box highlighting the Finance tab:

When editing a service, you will need to remove the fee from the right hand column and then add the correct fee from the left hand column such as.
In the example below we would delete the Marriage Service (2023: 1st January - 28th February) highlighted in Red and then use the Green + button to add Marriage Service (2023: 1st March - 31st December) as the correct fee for the Marriage Service.
